CHEAP CAR, WELL LOOKED AFTER, A LOT FOR THE PRICE!
Hi there, I purchased this car late last year as I needed an affordable run-around for work. The vehicle is a 1998 Peugeot 306 2.0 XSI. The car itself, for a 16 year old model is in a great condition; The body work has the minor imperfections as expected with a car of it’s age, but maintains a good shine when cleaned and polished. The interior is the GTI-6 style half leather, beautiful looking and extremely comfortable, but the drivers seat base has seen better days and is a bit tatty (pick these seats up for a good price) and there is a small hole on the rear bumper which is easily fixed. The car is MOT’d till July 2015, and is my daily runner. Very good on petrol, I put £20 in a week and get good mileage return. The car has all the modern cons needed (electric windows/sunroof etc, steering wheel controls remote central locking), with MOMO uprated steering wheel and gear knob that really suits the interior, which other than the seat is in impeccable condition. I was planning on keeping the vehicle, but my partner and I are looking at relocating to London were transport will no longer be required. The car is showing 130,000 miles, although there is a service history and it has been well looked after. The car has uprated LED interior lights, stainless steel exhaust system and was fully serviced in January 2015; with the previous MOT only showing advisories for a front tyre, of which I put two new front tyres on last month also. The insurance is also quite reasonable, at 22 I am paying just over £480 with Admiral. The vehicle has an after market air intake kit fitted, which personally I was going to change for a standard air box set up of which I have all the parts to fit which will be sold separately if the buyer does not want. I have fallen for this car, for the price you could not purchase a better run-around, a lot of car for little money. The car has original peugeot alloy wheels in black which really suits the blue body work. All in all, a great car that I will be sad to see go. Great winter project, runs well, strong motor. Driver’s window needs new regulator (supplied) and nearside rear caliper could do with a rebuild (kit supplied) and new disc. Two rust spots on an otherwise solid body (see pics) Lacquer lifting on Driver’s door. Front splitter needs paint/polish to be perfect. Some scratches and dings as expected on a 16 year old car. Green Cotton induction kit and full Mongoose Stainless exhaust system give good power. Some wear on Driver’s seat bolster but new Alcantara centre strips reupholstered 2 years ago. Tyres are superb Linglong ditchfinders, but only have about 5000 miles on them. £600 spent on suspension/running gear in last 2 years, loads of service history and receipts from previous owners including 300+ spent on airon. RELISTED AS “BUYER” NEVER MADE CONTACT. No MOT, SORN. BUYER COLLECT FROM ASTON FLAMVILLE Nr HINCKLEY. CASH ON COLLECTION.

For Sale is this rare standard condition gti6. One of the best handling cars ever made, the last proper hot hatch before they all got numb and overweight. There aren’t that many of these cars around anymore and this really is one of the best, an appreciating modern classic. A completely standard car with electric windows, mirrors and an electric sunroof, interior in great condition with an unbelievably rare non ripped drivers seat(these go for silly money nowadays), original CD player in full working order, Full service history from new, both key fobs with remote central locking. I have spent a huge amount of money getting the car to the standard it is today, it has a recent full standard exhaust system, Continental premium contact tyres all round with a full laser alignment, only the best genuine peugeot spec gearbox and engine oil with new filters and spark plugs to match. Most importantly the cam belt has just been changed by highly regarded specialists C.G cars in Leicester, if you are looking at other cars without the belt done then don’t bother, they snap at 30,000 and take the engine with them leaving the car a write off. I drove all the way from Manchester to Leicester to have the job done properly so you know this car isn’t a ticking time bomb. The paintwork is in good condition for the year, obviously it isn’t like brand new but it’s great for the age of the car. Being renowned for its handling there is no point in owning a gti6 with tired old suspension, thats like signing Paul Gascoigne and expecting him to still have it. Luckily for the buyer I have just fitted brand new Peugeot spec Bilstein B4 dampers, brand new top mount bearings, drop links and track rod ends to the car so the suspension is now completely refreshed at great expense. All in all this is one of the best examples of an iconic hot hatch available. With a fresh MOT,cam belt change completed by a specialist,full suspension overhaul and unripped seats you won’t find another gti6 in the country with so much going for it, look at cheaper ones by all means but add the cost of all these things(if you can even find the seats or afford to go to a specialist) and you’ll find you are looking at a cost way above my asking price. Welcome to the regretful sale of my 306 GTI6!! Quick specs: 1999 Peugeot 306 GTi6 106,000 miles MOT until November Currently taxed but is no longer transferable under new rules and will be SORN from March 1st Some history and receipts Now if you’re searching ebay for GTi-6s you probably already know about them, but for those that don’t, the GTi6 is the pinnacle of the 306 range. Comes as standard with a 2 litre, 16 valve, twin cam petrol engine with 167bhp and a 6 speed, close ratio gearbox. Not much power by todays standards but its a light car and the way it delivers it is amazing, pulling right round to 7k rpm…not forgetting the epic soundtrack to go with it! They only come in 3 door versions with uprated suspension all round, 15″ cyclone alloy wheels, big 283mm front brakes, all electrics inside (mirrors, windows, auto-wipers, central locking) and a part leather, part alcantara interior. This one has been enhanced both in noise and power with a 3″ Magnex stainless steel cat-back exhaust system with sports cat, and a RamAir induction kit. These really do add to the car and give a nice burble at idle moving through a growl under load and a scream round near the redline, with the added ‘bwarp’ from the induction kit, the noise is fantastic! I have also upgraded the wipers to Bosch Aerotwin flatblades and the poor standard washer jets for mist jets from the later Peugeots as theres no point having power if you cant see where you’re going. Visually I’ve colour coded the brake calipers, fitted legal pressed metal number plates for a cleaner look and of course the dice dust caps which I’m sure you’ve noticed, not to everyones taste but easily removed if you don’t want them! Just this week I have also fitted uprated solid metal gear linkages for a tight and precise gearchange. The car has some service history and a few stamps in the book but it is not complete, however I have just given it a major service including Shell oil, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs and auxiliary belt. Also had a knocking driveshaft so I replaced the pair with new warrantied items and refilled the gearbox with genuine Peugeot gear oil. The car drives very well being a low mileage example, good strong engine and gearbox, doesn’t appear to have any mechanical faults. Bodywork is in reasonable condition and looks great as a whole but up close there are a few imperfections which you must expect on a car of this age, nothing major though. The wheels have got a few kerb marks but are all straight and balanced are wrapped in good quality tyres, 2 Michelins with 5mm tread and 2 Uniroyal Rainsport 3’s which have only had a few months use, all in the correct profile, not the cheaper profiles that a lot of people go for! The interior condition of the car is good overall but does have a couple of defects which I’ll cover shortly. All electrics work on the car which is rare for these, no door loom faults, even the remote locking works on both fobs! There is also no major rust on the car, it had a small amount plated and welded for the last MOT on the front chassis leg (where people jack them up in the wrong place!) and that really was the only part that had gone. Now, with a car of this age and mileage you have to expect a few defects., I’m a perfectionist though so some of this may not bother you at all! As I’ve already said there are minor defects around the bodywork, but nothing major. The gearknob leather has peeled off, so the knob is now just plastic. The drivers seat bolster has a rip in it, the base is fine though and I have a replacement back cover that I just haven’t had a chance to fit, this will of course be included in the sale. The cambelt is coming up to 30k miles, which is the interval on this car, again I just haven’t got round to changing it, but I have bought the parts and these will also be included in the sale for the new owner to fit. The clutch is a little heavy but most 306 clutches are, it doesn’t slip and is smooth, just takes a couple of minutes to get used to after driving a newer car!Other than that I can’t think of any problems! Of course it has the odd bit of 306 charm, but if it didn’t it’d just be a boring, modern commuter! And really, none of that matters when you get it on the road, the power and noise take over and you forget it has any niggles at all! And if you’re into track days, this would be fantastic for that! I bought the car as a project to tidy up over the winter, aiming to use it as a second car for a bit of fun for years to come but unfortunately circumstances change and plans have to be altered, so regrettably it is up for sale now. It had been owned by a nice lady before me for 9 years who was very sad to see it go and I want to see it go to a good home for her sake as much as mine. The car is still in use until the end of February, it can be collected between March 1st and March 7th. Viewings are welcome before that and you’re more than welcome to leave a deposit to hold it until then. Am selling my much loved little red rocket!! Very reliable has never let me down, starts 1st time every time and a lot of fun to drive. Half leather seats with no rips or tears, GTI 6 mats, JVC CD player. Scorpion back box (sounds great) and everything else as standard.The electric windows, mirrors and auto wipers all in working order. M.O.T’d till April.Cam belt changed approx 8,000 miles ago.No noise or rattles from the engine and uses no oil, fab little car considering the miles it has covered!! Pulls well in all 6 gears. I have a chipped ECU and spare coil packs which will be included with the car. The power assisted steering ram has a slight leak and the car has the usual lacquer peel on bonnet and boot lid for a car of its age (see pics)Could be made to look like a fantastic car again with a bit of TLC!! Viewing welcome.Cash on collection preferred.

Hi and welcome to the auction for my Peugeot 306 GTI 6 Road Rally Car. Bought this last year with the intention of doing some night events but as we are expecting a new baby it has to go! The car has had a load of new parts fitted to it in the time I have had it. Have put on braided fuel lines which are run inside the car and brake lines run inside the car. New wishbones both sides, track rod ends both sides, anti roll bar links, new drive shafts both sides, front bearings both sides and discs and pads all round. Had a new head gasket, head skimmed, new timing belt and water pump, full service and new plugs, also put a four into one manifold. The car is fitted with a full bolt in roll cage, bucket seats and harnesses, 220 mm spot lights on front and nav clock. The car is fitted with a 205 1.6 GTI gearbox which is 5 speed, I fitted this gearbox as the 1.6 has lower ratios which gives the car more performance on the lanes. Car comes with a few spares, 4 spare wheels and tyres as can be seen in pictures, engine strut brace, a bonnet lid, a boot lid, a wing, spare manifold, sump, driveshafts, service kit and more. All the car needs to do any event is a sump guard fitting to it. Car is currently taxed and MOT’d and is being used daily for commuting to work. Full V5 present and MOT until November 2015.
