Peugeot 306 GTi 6 – would make a good track car with a little work NO RESERVE

173,500+ miles MOT until 28th June 2015 The time has come to part with my 1999 306 GTi-6. It’s been used daily since June last year and whilst it’s never broken down, it does have a few “characteristics” that I’ll detail below. Despite being ready to drive away, I am well aware of the flaws and am listing it with a starting bid at scrap value and will be brutally honest so you won’t be disappointed (or are at least prepared for disappointment). I’ll add to the list if I remember anything else worth mentioning. Good points: Current MOT Comes with some spare parts (detailed below) Engine runs well and pulls as it should Reasonable tyres all around (Dunlops on the front) Invoices from previous owner detailing fitting of a reconditioned gearbox, new clutch and timing belt/tensioners in 2012 at circa 160,000-162,000 miles Stereo with auxiliary port Starts first time every time It’s better than my old 206 (admittedly walking was also better than my 206) Wing mirrors and spoiler are monkey-proof (more on that later) Less good points (bold=spare part included): Dodgy speed sensor – sometimes the speedometer stops working and sits at zero. When this happens the engine will occasionally fail to idle and cut out when you press the clutch, however it’s never failed to immediately restart (either by “bumping” if I’m still moving, or by turning the key). There is a brand new replacement sensor included, I just haven’t fitted it as it involves draining the gearbox oil which is a bit fiddly to refill (I’m assuming the fault rests on the sensor but I’m not 100% sure – it appears to be a fairly common problem) Seized NS track rod end – new track rod and end included, however as it’s not really that out of alignment I’ve not had it replaced Rust on front jacking points – apparently this is pretty common on this age 306, however it’s been there since I bought the car and didn’t come up as an advisory on the MOT Lowered suspension – the previous owner decided to either lower or remove the suspension for some reason. I don’t think there’s actually anything wrong with it; it’s just lower and harder than any sane person would want on a road car. The fact that the airbags don’t go off every time I hit a pothole (which feels like running over a landmine) makes me think they may also be broken Airbag warning light is often illuminated – reinforces my above suspicions No spare wheel/tyre Exhaust doesn’t sit perfectly in bumper cut-out – would not recommend for OCD sufferers Heavy clutch – apparently this is a common issue on 306s, however I’ve never driven another so I can’t be sure. I’ve learnt that everything is a common issue on Peugeots Slight crack in front bumper Missing OS “hockey stick” trim, along with the bits of rubber from the drainage channels on the roof – stolen by the monkeys at Longleat Missing both front washer jets – again stolen by monkeys and slightly more irritating than the other trim they got. Despite their best efforts, both wing mirrors and the spoiler are still attached Very poor paint job on the spoiler – not sure who (or what…) repainted the spoiler, but it’s a very poor finish. If you wanted to redo it you could probably get a better result using a paintball gun Overheating problem in traffic – this is probably the biggest and most annoying fault present. Everything is fine when moving, however when you hit traffic the coolant temperature climbs pretty quickly, although it drops back to normal as soon as you start moving again. Turning the heaters on full helps to slow, but not stop, the problem. This creates a particularly unpleasant experience in the big cat enclosures at Longleat where you must drive slowly and keep the windows up through four consecutive enclosures. As I tend not to sit in traffic for too long and, in normal circumstances, I can put the windows down it’s never bothered me enough to get it fixed. Not entirely sure what the problem is but I feel it’s to do with the badge on the front Air con doesn’t work – I was told by the garage I bought it off that it “probably just needs a re-gas”, however I won’t lie to you like they did to me. A pipe under the radiator has snapped; it definitely doesn’t just need a re-gas The radio doesn’t work – the stereo is fine and I hoped it just needed a new aerial (the old one was missing), however it looks like it probably needs a new wire connecting the aerial to the stereo (this is included with the car). The new aerial has been chewed a little bit by monkeys so may need replacing again anyway The driver’s side speaker is intermittent – it actually sounds better when it’s not working at all, because when it does “work” it’s rattly and doesn’t like any bass/sound Someone (tried to) fit speakers in the parcel shelf – they are not fitted very well and I’m pretty confident they don’t work The driver’s seat is ripped – whilst cosmetically damaged the foam and structure of the seat is still ok and it hasn’t really lost any support Both wing mirrors have slight scuffs on them Sometimes after indicating the car will continue to make a ticking sound, to remind you that you’ve recently been indicating. It doesn’t flash the indicators or anything, it just makes the noise The rear heated screen doesn’t work The rear wiper blade did only clear about 30-40% of the swept area…until I broke it off while washing the car for the photos. The piece of plastic holding it on was pretty flimsy so it would almost certainly have broken off anyway and I’ve saved you the hassle of having to run back down the road to pick it up – it’s now stored safely in the boot There’s only one key and no remote locking, although the central locking works The driver’s side door card is a little bit loose and can prevent the door locking correctly, however a quick push tends to get it back into place Slight bubbling of rust on the bottom of the driver’s door Of course as well as the above there’s the general wear-and-tear associated with a 173,500-mile 16-year-old car with stone chips and small dents on the paintwork. Overall it’s not too bad, but could be better – I have described and photographed any key areas which should give a pretty good idea of the condition. Any inspection is welcome and encouraged, however I’d rather you don’t look too closely as I don’t want you putting yourself off. Cash on collection only – I’ve set the auction to end during the Easter weekend – it would be ideal if the winner could pick the car up by the end of the Bank Holiday, however I am happy to wait up to a maximum of 5 days for the buyer to collect. This car is NOT advertised elsewhere and I won’t be ending the auction early – it’ll sell for whatever the auction ends at. I’m sure this goes without saying, but I’ll mention it anyway – there’s no warranty and this car is sold as seen. Here we have a cracking peugeot 306 gti6 up for sale. Car is finished in metallic moonstone blue and has the contrasting black leather/alcantara sports interior, both exterior and the interior in fantastic condition and showing very little wear, car is more or less standard bar the petrol flaps and the door vinyls having been replaced with mock carbon fibre, also the rear spoiler is colour coded. Mechanically- The car has just had a overhaul and should give the new owner plenty more reliable miles. The engine was refreshed and the cylinder head was removed, this was due to the head gasket failing and also the ever so common tap these cars get when people don’t time them up correctly when doing engine work, all parts removed when this work was undertaken has been refurbished and painted and make the car look so fresh, all refitted with genuine parts and the all important timing belt kit has been replaced.All the brakes front and rear are brand new, refurbished calipers, new brake pads and disc,s, also the rear backing plates have been renewed with new items, alloy wheels have been refurbished and the tyre are brand new with 0 miles traveled on them. Car has all the owners books and a fully stamped up service book, also a file full of receipts etc, all old mot certificates too. Great reading. Exterior- Although in great condition when we got the car we had to have a few bits refreshed which were the front and rear bumpers, the front bumper as you can imagine had some stone clippings and the rear bumper had a scuff to one corner, both bumpers were removed, stripped down and professionally painted, also the rear spoiler has been painted as the black tends to weather and looks awful. All four wheels were scuffed and these were professionally shot blasted and refurbished inside and out then fitted with new toyo tyres. Other than this cars lovely and looks brilliant. Interior- Very clean and tidy and all standard bar a aftermarket CD player fitted, we still have the standard peugeot unit and this will go with the car, all seats etc show minimal wear and are not torn or ripped, car also has genuine carpet matts fitted which not only look great but has protected the carpets to look as new underneath, I do have more photos should you require them. But rest assured the cars in a lovely condition and really does stand out due to this. Yes there may be cheaper cars out there but I feel a cheaper car will require some work, May that be a timing belt replacement, a bumper scuff, some new brakes, tyres etc, this car has had it all If anyone is interested in the car I recommend you come and take some time out to view it and take it for a drive and see what you think. Please don’t disregard this car due to the mileage, for the year it’s very average but I honestly think you won’t find better out there, these are becoming very rare now is this sort of condition. Here we have a rare opportunity to buy a Peugeot 306 GTI-6 (gti 6), the last of the decent Peugeot hot hatches. Like the 205 GTI these are cracking motors and has the same engine as the 405 Mi16. Pistonheads – “the 306 GTI-6 was blessed with on the most accomplished, enjoyable front-drive chassis ever” This would make a prefect track car and is a real drivers car, with no electronic aids to ruin the driving experience. I purchased the car back in 2013 as a non runner, the car had been parked in a garage since 2009, since then I have slowly been bringing the car back to how it should be and have replaced the following; · New Radiator and bottom hose· New fuel pump,· New Fuel filter,· New Coil pack· New front brakes· ThThe car has a complete stainless steel exhaust from maifold to back box and the body work is in exceptional condition for the age, with only one dent that is barely noticeable. I MOT’d the car a few weeks ago and have replaced most the parts it failed on, on the way back from the MOT station, the car drove as it should and pulled extremely well (as expected). However when I got home the car started to misfire and the water started pressurising As you can see the drivers seat has a rip in the bolster, the rest of the interior looks almost new and very clean Although it still runs and drives I am listing the car as spares or repairs due to suspected head gasket failure. Peugeot 306 GTI 6 Max Power (Jordan) Dimma Convertible/Cabriolet

One of only two cars ever completed, ex Max Power car…Being prepared for sale, this car is not to some peoples taste, however it is special and indeed a future classic. I took this in on a Part exchange and I am now looking to move it on. The car is well known on the circuit and has been drooled over by a select group of models on various occasions, the car has therefore been signed by the models on the boot lid… Including Katie Price/ Jordan. it will come with a new MOT, it has just had a new clutch too. I have a choice… I can turn it back into a show car and the ask around the 6k mark or let someone else put their time into it?! Depending on interest, like I say this is more of a select investment in my eyes but is a usable everyday car with a difference. I have bought another yellow cabriolet for spares as the heater matrix was gone…and needs a few switches hear and there, which I will do. What am I looking for… well I want 4k, willing to px something else, hot hatch, old Skool…why? I will also throw in the other car too… So just testing the water. For sale is my very clean Peugeot 306 XSi 2.0 16v in Moonstone silver/blue metallic. Very tidy car, i bought this as a stop gap from my brother whilst my Golf GTi was in having some repairs and now for sale due to no longer needing it. It has the 2.0 16v GTi-6 engine fitted as you can see in the pics so has 170 BHP…the engine came from a 90,000 mile donor car so has a few other GTi goodies fitted also. The 5 speed gearbox was kept as it delivers more torque than the 6 speed box so does pull very well. Its just been put through an MOT so has a clean bill of health, only advisories were both rear tyres close to limit. 1997 PEUGEOT 306 GTI 6 BLUE

Relisted due to buyer not being able to complete deal Peugeot 306 Gti-6 Nile Blue – Phase 2 Circa 135,000 MOT until 30th July 2015 All electrics work Aircon works (pipework replaced by previous owner) New rear tyres (replaced just over 100 miles ago) SunroofAll standardTwo keys present When I purchased the car a year ago I had a new genuine cambelt, waterpump, bottom pulley and auxiliary belt replaced on the car at a cost of almost £600. I originally purchased this car as a second car to help with the nursery run. As my wife is now on maternity leave for our next child I no longer need it. The bad points of the car is that it sometimes has a squeal when reversing. I assume this is down to new brake pads. I did intend to replace all the brakes but I no longer have the time. Sometimes I get a bang from the rear when going over speed bumps, I am not sure what this I thought either a lose spare wheel cage or it needs new rear mounts. Of course the car has a few scratches and chips that are normal for a car of this age. Front tyres also have a lot of tread left and the alloys are in good condition overall, just a few scuffs.
